Automate sporadic updates of your data

1

Publish updates on a reliable shared data source

To automate sporadic data updates, publishers need to publish updates on a reliable shared data source that is accessible to Koordinates.

Koordinates can connect to a range of data sources for data scanning and data loading, including:

  • PostGreSQL database
  • Windows CIFS shares
  • ArcGIS Server
  • WFS services
  • ZIP files or a series of individual data files published on a web server

Other data sources can be added as new features via a Statement of Work, such as SQL Server, Oracle or Amazon S3.

Note: Connecting these data sources to Koordinates may require arranging secure network access between the two end-points which Koordinates supports via direct firewall adjustments and VPN connection.

2

Raise a support ticket with Koordinates

Once the updates are published, raise a ticket with Koordinates Support. To raise a ticket with Koordinates Support, select Contact Us from the Help menu.

In your message, include the desired update details and timeframe.

3

Koordinates will scan for updates

Koordinates Support engineers will then schedule a script to run at the appropriate time. Koordinates will scan the data source for new and existing datasets, and locate updates. Existing datasets will then be automatically updated.

4

Administrator will be notified of errors

The administrator for the data publisher will be notified of any validation errors. Validation errors will occur for data updates that are inaccessible or non-existent.

A validation error will also occur for new datasets that are not already published on Koordinates. When these datasets are located, publishers will be given an option of publishing them as a new item.
