Image distortion
Images exported from Koordinates can appear distorted for two different reasons.
1
Export projection differs from original projection
The projection you request for export may differ from its original projection.
During the export process, Koordinates re-processes the imagery to match your requested projection.
This generally reduces the quality of the images and can introduce artefacts or localised distortions depending on the projections involved.
2
Export projection not suitable for display in image editor
The projection you request may not be suitable for display within your image editor.
Avoid image distortion
To avoid image distortion, we recommend that you always export aerial and satellite imagery in the same projection that it was supplied in. This means that you can open the images in a basic image editor/viewer without distortions.
This also preserves image data quality when using a GIS package that can re-project imagery 'on the fly'.
